After a hiatus of a couple of years because of the Covid 19 pandemic, the World Federation of Roses finally held their Convention in Adelaide, Australia.

HRNZI nominated Fran Rawling QSM for the World Rose Award for outstanding services to the rose, in this case heritage roses.

We were thrilled to hear our nomination had been successful and Doug Grant (Vice President WFRS) received the award on Fran’s behalf at the Awards Dinner on Thursday November 3rd.

At the opening of the information room at the Sexton’s Cottage in the Dunedin Northern Cemetery on November 27, Doug Grant flew down from Auckland to present the award in person to Fran. This was in the form of a certificate and medal.

Please refer to the post on News when she received her QSM for a run down on Fran’s achievements. She is a wonderful inspiration to us all who aspire to conserve the heritage roses of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
